Summer Training Camp

As has become a club tradition, the first weekend in June (1,2,3) and also the weekend before the first triathlon on the Triathlon Manitoba schedule, Coach Patrick will be hosting a training camp weekend at the family cottage in Victoria Beach, Manitoba.
Located an hour north of the city of Hwy. 59, the area offers plenty of quiet cycling roads, a few hills (Manitoba Mountains!), plenty of trails for running, and open water swimming opportunities.

Plan to arrive out on Friday night to get settled and hopefully sleep, as we'll be up bright and early for a very active, but fun day!

This is a great opportunity to get to know the area, ride with club members, talk about the upcoming Tri season, pick up some great tips and have some fun!

A rough schedule for the weekend (final schedule to be dictated by the weather):

Friday evening: Arrive, settle, light run.

Saturday: Cycle 8am departure. Multi-loop course (choose your distance). Follow up with a short Brick run.  After a healthy late lunch, we can enjoy some great beaches and an open water swim clinic (or head in for some golf or tennis if it suits you).  We'll try to include some fun/competitive activities along the way, so be sure to save a little bit on the ride. Group Dinner followed by an evening of sharing stories, experiences, and campfires.

Sunday: Cycle 8am departure. This will be a short loop ride, followed by a longish run.  Follow this with a huge Brunch and another afternoon of beach activities and open water swimming.

Return to Winnipeg early Sunday evening following a light supper (Hamburgers/Hotdogs).

RSVP is required by email to ppeacock at shaw.ca by Sunday May 27th.

Cost is estimated at about $40-50/person. (final cost will be disclosed at camp based on attendance).

All food is covered (except special needs and specific "sport" nutrition (ie on the bike).

A complete list of required items and directions will be sent out following the deadline.

We'll accommodate as many people as possible, but some may need sleeping pads and sleeping bags...it is "camp" after all...for more privacy, bring a tent!
